About us
The Earlham Word, founded in 1986, is the sole student-operated press organization of Earlham College. The Word circulates twelve issues per academic semester - free of charge - to every administrative and academic building on campus. Our paper reaches approximately 2,500 faculty, staff, alumni and members of the Richmond, Indiana community.
Mission Statement
The Earlham Word’s mission is to report fairly and accurately on issues important to the Earlham and wider Richmond communities, and to act as a watchdog for the integrity of the college.
The Word aims to serve as a connection tool among members of the Earlham and Richmond communities, and between Earlham and the world, providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge and the discussion of topics relevant to the community.
The Word seeks to reflect the diversity of peoples and perspectives in the communities it serves.
