About us
The Earlham Word, founded in 1986, is the sole student-operated press organization of Earlham College. The Word circulates twelve issues per academic semester - free of charge - to every administrative and residential building on campus. Our paper reaches approximately 2,500 faculty, staff, alumni and members of the Richmond, Indiana community.
About this site
This version of the Word’s website was designed by Andy Hickman (’08) on WordPress, a free and open-source blogging platform. WordPress is a modular CMS, meaning that it can be extended through the use or modification of any number of optional “plug-in” packages. Plugins are all free to use, but authors sometimes request donations. Ad revenue generated by ECword is directed towards these authors.
There are 21 plugins used: 20 active plugins and 1 inactive plugins. Inactive plugins are temporary, directed-use, outdated, replaced or otherwise masked for security purposes. The active plugins are:
