So hopefully the title intrigued you in and now you are thinking to yourself, “Ford Knight Research Projects as a Convocation? Don’t we typically have a speaker or a mini performance for that event?â€
The Events Committee invites us all to think a bit outside of the box and join us next fall for a Convocation that looks at the work we are doing right here on campus!
For more than a year, the Events Committee has been considering ways in which we can support our own community through the Convocation series. We would like to follow on the success of this spring’s Research Conference and this coming fall’s Science Division Poster Session with an additional opportunity to explore collaborative research.
This past year seventeen projects were granted approval and funds to do research. They ranged from Live Music in Richmond: Musicians and Venues, to Screening Islam and Chemistry of Food Preparation and Preservation: Use of Powder XRD, ATR-FTIR, NMR, CD, and Calorimetry in Food Science.
We believe, and know that you will agree, that there is a wealth of passion, creativity, and ideas for Ford Knight Research. It is our hope that if you have been a part of a project that you will sign up to present at our December Convocation. If you haven’t been a part of a project, come and support your classmates, colleagues and friends and see if this sparks an idea for you!
