ESG congratulates elected CCL reps
submitted by the Earlham Student Government (who will remember to include a by-line next time — ed.)
First, we announce and congratulate two returning and one new member as Representatives for the Committee on Campus Life (CCL). Following a successful election process with many wonderful candidates, Cory Mathieu, Andrés Guzmán and Tatenda Makanza have been elected as representatives. We hope that in the following year, the student population will get to know these faces and approach them with ideas, thoughts and concerns regarding non-academic life at Earlham. We look forward to a highly productive year ahead in CCL.
Second, congratulations to Rachel Mooneyham who was elected in a heated race, cementing her role as Recording Clerk for the coming year.
Further, we have been very excited about the two all-student meetings this semester on Diversity and Mental Health Resources. We hope that these meetings have been informative, inspiring, and thought-provoking. We hope that from our continued discussion regarding meaningful topics on campus we can continue to advocate and act towards a better community.
We would also like to give a big thanks to all of the Earlham community members who participated in the Day of Service. Thanks to everyone who came out on a cold and blustery Saturday for a day of picking up trash. We know it might not sound so nice, but with the glowing shirts and smiles we were able to pop the Earlham bubble, interacting with the greater Richmond community in a positive and highly visible way. We would also like to thank all of those in the Richmond community and here at Earlham who helped organize the event and we look forward to another rainy and cold day a year from now.
Finally, we in Earlham Student Government would like to hear your thoughts about how we, as representatives of the student body, are doing. How can we improve? What are we doing well? What would you like to see change or stay the same? What should we do next semester? We would love to hear your thoughts. Please email us at esg@earlham.edu.
